Earlier this month over 70,000 people flocked to Black Rock Desert for the 30th annual Burning Man festival. A temporary community dedicated to radical self-expression and self-reliance, Burning Man attracts artists and builders from all over the world. As the sun sets on the playa, festival goers and the camps themselves come to life with brilliant displays of light: clothing, transportation, even art structures.
Designer Dan Lockwood chose Fibrance to light up his festival bike because of the “smooth, even dissipation of light across the entire length of the fiber." Lockwood noted that "there aren’t any hot spots like those in LED strands. I have worked with most of the lighting products out there, and the flexibility and size of the fiber opens up many new possibilities."
As lovers of innovative lighting, design, we can't get enough! Here are some images of Lockwood's light display from Burning Man featuring Corning® Fibrance® Light-Diffusing Fiber.
