Mario Paniccia
Mario Paniccia has a distinguished career trail blazing new technologies and businesses in the photonics industry. During his 20+ year tenure at Intel he has served in various roles from research and development to strategic direction setting to driving the development and commercialization of silicon photonics technologies needed to enable optical communications and/or optical interconnects in and around Intel platforms.
Paniccia earned a bachelor's degree in physics in 1988 from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Ph.D. in solid state physics from Purdue University in 1994. In May 2009 Paniccia was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Binghamton University. In 2011 Paniccia was named “innovator of the year” by EE times.
Kevin Sullivan
Dr. Kevin G. Sullivan is an experienced executive with a proven record of optical product realization from concept through production in both Silicon Valley start-ups and large technology corporations. With a recent focus on photonic component development for mega data centers and LiDAR, Dr. Sullivan has held a range of leadership positions over the past twenty years that leverage his broad technical and business background spanning engineering, product development, manufacturing operations, product reliability and P&L management.
Qing Tan
Dr. Qing Tan has 20 years of experience working on both startup and large technology companies in the semiconductor, MEMS, and fiber optical communication sectors, with product development experience in hardware, firmware, and software. He has led teams and delivered multiple leading edge commercial optical transceiver and active cable products that are in the commercial markets today. His DDR active optical cable product is used by world's fastest computer in 2008, IBM Roadrunner. His QDR active optical cable was used in world's fastest computer in 2010, Tianhe. Dr. Tan has proven track record of leading teams with global experience and locations, with extensive connections with Asia customers and suppliers.
